Are you an ambitious undergraduate, Master’s, or early-stage PhD student eager to engage in cutting-edge scientific research? Applications are officially open for the START Winter Session 2027 at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna, Russia.
This prestigious international programme grants eligible students the opportunity to conduct advanced research under the direct mentorship of leading JINR experts.
Programme Overview & Benefits
Selected participants will complete an immersive 6 to 8-week research placement in Dubna during the programme window. Upon completion, participants compile a comprehensive report detailing their findings, which is subsequently published on the official programme portal.
Comprehensive Financial Support
Daily Allowance: 2,000 Russian rubles per day.
Accommodation: Fully covered and booked directly by JINR.
Travel Support: Travel expenses and arrangements are managed or covered based on your country of origin (with specific guidelines for Russian/Belarusian citizens vs. international applicants).
Visa Reimbursement: Visa application fees are reimbursed upon providing valid receipts and copies.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the START Winter Session 2027, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Academic Level: Fourth or fifth-year undergraduate students, current Master’s students, or first-year PhD students.
Field of Study: Academic discipline must align directly with JINR’s core scientific research fields.
Age Limit: Applicants must be under 30 years old.
Global Openness: Open to students of all nationalities worldwide.
Exclusivity: Prior participants of the START Programme or the JINR Summer Student Programme are ineligible.
