Role Overview
As Lafiya expands its IT operations, we are seeking a hands-on IT Generalist to build, maintain, and secure our technology infrastructure. You will oversee hardware procurement, systems administration, platform management, user support, and enterprise cybersecurity.
Immediate Priority: Lead device rollouts and security readiness ahead of our all-staff retreat in December.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware & Device Lifecycle: Define hardware specs per role, set procurement budgets with the COO and Finance team, procure/configure hardware, and maintain asset inventory.
Platform & Access Administration: Manage user provisioning for platforms including Google Workspace, Slack, Personio, SurveyCTO, Airtable, Capsule, Squarespace, Xero, and Claude.
Cybersecurity & Compliance: Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments, enforce access controls (MFA, endpoint protection, patch management), and establish clear IT policies.
Technical Support & Vendor Management: Provide day-to-day troubleshooting, onboard/train staff, and manage relationships with ISPs, device suppliers, and SaaS vendors.
Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree/HND in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, or equivalent experience with certifications.
3–5 years in IT support or systems administration (NGO or small-organization experience preferred).
Mandatory: Hands-on management of a 20+ device fleet (Windows and/or Mac).
Mandatory: Administration experience with Google Workspace and Slack (licensing, security, permissions).
Mandatory: Valid cybersecurity certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, ISC2 CC, or equivalent).
Key Skills
Strong background in implementing baseline security controls (MFA, access policies, endpoint management).
Clear communication skills with non-technical team members; ability to work independently across time zones.
Professional fluency in English.
Desirable
Experience with MDM solutions (Google Endpoint Management, Jamf, Intune).
Experience carrying out formal IT risk assessments and managing hardware/ISP vendors.
