Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Credit Officer to join our team at the Jimeta Ultra Modern Market branch. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in assessing clients’ creditworthiness, processing loan applications, evaluating financial risks, and ensuring timely loan disbursement and repayment collection.
Key Responsibilities
Review loan applications and requests thoroughly.
Assess clients’ financial status and creditworthiness.
Evaluate lending risks and make sound recommendations on loan approvals or rejections.
Contact clients to obtain required financial information and supporting documents.
Prepare loan applications and establish structured repayment plans.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date loan application and portfolio records.
Follow up with clients regarding loan renewals and ongoing financial needs.
Monitor existing loans and track repayment progress closely.
Conduct daily and weekly repayment collections.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: NCE, OND, HND, or Bachelor’s Degree in Banking and Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Experience: Previous experience as a Credit Officer, Loan Officer, or in a similar financial role.
Skills:
Practical knowledge of lending procedures and financial products.
Proficiency in preparing and processing financial spreadsheets.
Strong analytical and risk-assessment capabilities.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional customer service experience.
