Job Overview
The Supervisor for Operations Crop Production and Farmer Development will oversee day-to-day crop production activities and optimize farm management from land preparation through post-harvest operations.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management: Oversee daily field operations, including land preparation, planting, spraying, fertilizer application, and harvesting.
Team Leadership: Coordinate field officers, farm workers, tractor operators, and third-party service providers.
Crop Health & Yield: Monitor growth stages, pest/disease threats, and overall field performance to maximize productivity within budget and timeline constraints.
Sustainable Practices: Support the adoption of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and climate-smart farming techniques.
Data & Reporting: Maintain accurate logs of inputs, labor, equipment usage, and yield metrics; prepare regular operational updates for management.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: B.Sc. or HND in Agronomy, Crop Production, Agricultural Science, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in commercial crop production or farm supervision.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of agricultural inputs, crop nutrition, pest control, and farm machinery operations.
Core Competencies: Field leadership, organization, report writing, and proficiency in MS Office.
Flexibility: Willingness to work outdoors in active field environments and travel across regional farm locations.
