About the Role
Malaria Consortium is seeking a highly qualified State Project Manager to provide leadership, strategic direction, and comprehensive management for the SARMAAN II Project in Kaduna State.
The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of project implementation, resource management, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement to ensure the timely delivery of project milestones and targets.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Management: Lead project startup, planning, and execution in alignment with donor-approved workplans. Provide performance management oversight to the state project team.
Workplanning & Delivery: Develop and execute annual workplans, ensuring overall project activities are delivered on schedule and within budget.
Financial Management & Risk: Track project budgets, manage financial reporting, and actively mitigate financial, reputational, and security risks.
Monitoring & Evaluation: Support M&E planning, ensure the collection and analysis of high-quality project data, and drive technical quality assurance.
Stakeholder & Partner Relations: Build strong partnerships with government institutions, key stakeholders, and oversee subcontractors for harmonized implementation.
Reporting & Learning: Prepare progress updates, technical reports, and presentations while documenting and disseminating key project learning.
Representation: Represent Malaria Consortium at state-level meetings and participate in national forums as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
Master’s or Postgraduate degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Epidemiology, or a related field.
Extensive experience managing donor-funded projects at national or state levels in developing countries.
Demonstrated expertise in project planning, financial management, budget tracking, and M&E.
Proven leadership, team management, advocacy, and policy-influencing skills.
Professional fluency in written and spoken English.
Desirable:
Direct experience in malaria programme implementation.
Demonstrated experience leading multi-faceted projects at the state level.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Skills & Competencies
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
Excellent technical report writing and presentation abilities.
In-depth understanding of public health challenges within West and Central Africa.
