Job Summary
As a Field Verification Officer, you will be responsible for carrying out various kinds of field verifications, leveraging your experience and standard operating procedures to help identify and eliminate potential default red flags before the disbursement of a loan facility or in the verification of general KYC information for customers, employees, or other relevant parties.
You will draw deductions from several information sources at verification locations to ensure accuracy and legitimacy. High creativity, meticulousness, and a strong sense of observation are required to collect any supplementary data relevant to the assignment. Candidates are expected to work with the highest integrity, as any falsified information provided during verification will be considered fraud and trigger legal processes.
Job Responsibilities
- Embark on physical visits to potential borrowers’ business locations for evaluation of business books, taking inventory and turnover into consideration
- Ensure that all verifications are completed thoroughly, according to standard operating procedures and within specified timelines
- Conduct physical visits to verify residential or business address information provided
- Physically visit other parties such as loan guarantors and employee references to ensure they understand their responsibilities and can be easily located if necessary
- Prepare comprehensive and accurate reports on daily verification activities
- Perform all other functions as assigned by a supervisor
Qualifications
- A minimum of a B.Sc or HND in any business-related discipline
- In-depth geographical knowledge of the local environment
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in credit risk or field verification is an added advantage
