Program Overview
ZYCELP is a youth-led fellowship equipping young Zamfarans with the skills, tools, and networks required to drive accountability, transparency, and inclusive governance. Supported by the Nigeria Youth Futures Fund (NYFF), Cohort 3 focuses on transforming youth civic awareness into impactful, real-world action across Zamfara State.
Key Fellow Activities
Governance & Budgeting: Receive training on public budget tracking, project monitoring, and digital tools for transparency.
Civic & Democratic Engagement: Lead voter education, election awareness campaigns, electoral debates, and media discussions (podcasts, radio, TV).
Accountability & Leadership: Track elected leaders using digital scorecards, engage directly with policymakers, and advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Fellowship Benefits
Training & Mentorship: Intensive training and direct guidance from seasoned civic leaders and experts.
Grant Funding: Eligibility to compete for up to ₦100,000 in grant support for fellow-led campaign initiatives across selected LGAs.
Network & Growth: Certificate of participation, lifetime membership in the ZYCELP Alumni Network, media exposure, and ongoing access to career, fellowship, and scholarship opportunities.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Age: 18 – 35 years old.
Residency: Indigene and resident of any of the 14 LGAs in Zamfara State.
Commitment: Available for a 3-day residential workshop and post-training alumni activities.
Profile: Strong interest in governance, advocacy, or community development; active on social media with a commitment to responsible digital engagement.
