About the Role
As a Business Relationship Manager, you will play a critical role in driving business growth across assigned commercial areas in Bauchi. This is a field-based role focused on expanding Moniepoint’s merchant network, fostering long-term client relationships, and matching financial products to local business needs. You will take full ownership of end-to-end merchant acquisition, POS terminal deployment, and account retention.
Key Responsibilities
Merchant Acquisition & Growth: Identify, visit, and onboard prospective business owners via targeted field engagement, local trade communities, and referral networks.
Product Engagement & Consultation: Educate business owners on Moniepoint’s product suite and recommend tailored solutions that support their daily operations and financial goals.
Target Achievement: Consistently meet and exceed monthly KPIs for active merchant onboarding, terminal deployment, loan disbursements, and repayments.
KYC & Compliance: Manage seamless merchant onboarding while ensuring strict adherence to internal operational guidelines, regulatory standards, and KYC documentation requirements.
Relationship & Portfolio Management: Build strong, trust-based relationships with clients to drive active account usage, higher transaction volumes, and long-term retention.
Deal Structuring & Transparency: Conduct transparent discussions around product pricing, terms, and service agreements within company policy limits.
Issue Resolution & Support: Act as the primary point of contact for merchant inquiries, delivering quick support, resolving operational bottlenecks, or escalating issues when necessary.
Market Intelligence: Gather insights on local market trends and competitor activity to provide actionable feedback to field leadership.
Reporting & Pipeline Management: Maintain clean records of sales pipelines and submit accurate, timely field performance reports via designated CRM tools.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree, HND, or OND from a recognized tertiary institution.
Experience: 2–4 years of hands-on field sales experience, ideally within fintech, commercial banking, payment acquiring, or agency banking environments.
Track Record: Proven ability to meet or exceed targets related to sales, field acquisition, or client onboarding.
Market Familiarity: Deep understanding of the local financial services landscape and regional trading dynamics in Bauchi.
Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and customer relationship management skills.
Preferred Experience
Direct experience with POS terminal deployment, payment acquiring, or micro-loan disbursements.
Proficiency in CRM tools for sales pipeline management, activity logging, and field tracking.
