Role Overview
The State Operations Coordinator will lead day-to-day field operations across Jigawa State. Key responsibilities include managing farmer enrollment, input distribution, financial recovery, and commodity aggregation. This role requires supervising field teams, maintaining accurate data, ensuring financial reconciliation, and building strategic relationships with local stakeholders and government institutions.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Implementation & Field Operations: Direct and coordinate the daily rollout of the Farmer Outgrower Programme across targeted field sites in Jigawa State.
Farmer Enrollment, Inputs & Data Management: Lead enrollment initiatives, oversee the distribution of agricultural inputs, and maintain rigorous data collection and reporting standards.
Recovery & Financial Reconciliation: Track recovery performance, safeguard assets, and support transparent financial reconciliation for all programme operations.
Aggregation, Offtake & Quality Control: Manage crop aggregation and offtake processes to ensure produce meets established quality standards and yield targets.
Team Supervision & Performance Management: Provide operational leadership to field staff, setting clear targets, providing support, and evaluating performance.
Stakeholder & Government Relations: Establish strong working relationships with farmers, local communities, relevant government bodies, and value-chain partners.
Compliance & Risk Management: Monitor field-level compliance with operational guidelines, identify and mitigate operational risks, and compile regular progress reports.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree or HND in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field.
Experience: 4–6 years of progressive experience in agricultural outgrower programmes, field operations, or value-chain management.
Leadership: Minimum of 2 years in a direct supervisory or team leadership role.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and standard field data collection/reporting tools.
Licensing & Mobility: Valid Nigerian driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within field locations in Jigawa State.
