Role Overview
The Kimpat Development Initiative (KDI) is seeking qualified, committed individuals to serve as Long-Term Election Security Monitors (LTSMs). This role focuses on promoting peaceful elections, strengthening democratic governance, and supporting electoral integrity through community-based security monitoring ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 General Elections.
Target Locations
Applications are open to eligible residents across Federal Constituencies in the following states:
Bayelsa
Bauchi
Imo
Kaduna
Kogi
Lagos
Key Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered for the role:
Age & Residency: Must be at least 18 years old and reside in the specific Federal Constituency where they intend to monitor.
Local Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of the local community and surrounding electoral environment.
Core Values: Demonstrate strict impartiality, personal integrity, and a commitment to peaceful elections.
Skills: Possess strong observation, communication, and reporting skills, along with proficiency in using smartphones and digital reporting tools.
Availability: Fully available for mandatory training sessions and monitoring activities throughout the project period (November 2026 – February 2027).
Political Neutrality: Must not hold a leadership position in any political party or play an active role in a political campaign.
Preferred Advantage: Previous experience in election observation, community monitoring, conflict prevention, research, journalism, or civic engagement.
